April tends to be a pretty rainy month, and while all of that rain may make those beautiful flowers bloom in May, it can also be hard on your roof. Spring storms often come with heavy rain, and if you don’t properly prepare your roof, you could end up with leaks and other issues on your hands! Wouldn’t you rather learn how to prevent those issues from happening in the first place? If so, you’ve come to the right place! Our Roofer in Frisco, TX has come up with the following list of tips to help you prepare your roof for those April showers:
- Inspect your roof – It is advisable to check your roof at least twice a year, once before winter and once before it gets rainy. Look for shingles that are missing or broken, cracks or signs of wear in the vent pipes and rubber boots, damage to your chimney cap, shingles that are curling, blistering or buckling, and rust spots or cracked caulk on the flashing.
- Spring cleaning – One of the best ways to keep your roof in great shape is by keeping it clean! Remove any and all debris, and make sure that all of your drains are functioning properly and clear or debris.
- Repair any issues – If you have found minor defects during your inspection, you may be able to repair them yourself, but if you need our experts, we are always happy to help! Repairing small issues now will prevent them from turning into major problems in the future so don’t delay!
